Women Supporting Women.

At TWR, everything starts with community. Our local runs are powered by women who care about connection — and want to create safe, welcoming spaces for others to move, chat and feel part of something positive. Starting a group is your chance to bring women together where you live and make a difference to wellbeing in your area.

You don’t need to be a running expert — just someone who believes in community and loves the idea of helping others discover the joy of being active.

What's Involved.

The Dream Team

The key to starting any TWR group is finding the right person to lead it - someone who’s passionate about bringing women together and championing the benefits of getting active in their community.

From there, it’s about building a small, committed volunteer team to help deliver the group week to week. Each TWR community is run by local women who share the work, support one another, and bring their own strengths to make it thrive.

We’ll support you and your team every step of the way — but every group is driven by its local volunteers. That’s what keeps TWR personal, sustainable and rooted in the community it serves.

Getting Ready to Launch

The time it takes to start a TWR group can vary — it depends on how long it takes to bring together your team and build local support.

Most groups take around 3–4 months from first chat to first run.

During that time, we’ll help you:

  • Build your core volunteer team

  • Engage your local community and spread the word

  • Put all the right safety and support plans in place

There’s no rush. We’ll only launch when you’re ready, your team is confident, and everything’s in place for your group to thrive long-term.

We've Got You

You’ll have our full support from day one. From your first chat to your first run, we’ll be alongside you to make sure everything feels simple, safe and supported. You’ll get:

Training and guidance to help you lead confidently and create an inclusive space for women in your area

Practical tools and templates for planning sessions, promoting your group and keeping things running smoothly

Ongoing support and connection from the TWR team and a network of other group leaders who’ve been there too

Becoming a volunteer Community Leader for TWR was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Not only have I made the best friends and gained an amazing support network, but helping women find headspace and a sense of community through running brings me so much joy.

The training and support that TWR are able to offer is second to none, and I feel blessed that, with their support, we can have such a positive impact on women's lives!
