Volunteering as a TWR Run Angel

has given me more confidence

and a real sense of purpose!

Earn Your Wings.

Run Angels are the heart of every TWR community. They’re the friendly volunteers who lead our weekly runs, welcome newcomers, and make sure everyone feels safe, supported, and part of the group.

You don’t need to be the fastest or the fittest — just someone who loves connection, enjoys encouraging others, and believes in the power of women running together.

As a Run Angel, you’ll:

  • Lead and support weekly group runs at a chatty, inclusive pace

  • Be part of a small local team who share the role and keep things running smoothly

  • Help share updates and community info through your local group and online spaces

Katherine

"Joining TWR has got me to love running, and running is the thing that keeps me sane! I really enjoy planning and leading runs as a TWR volunteer, I find I have much less social anxiety when meeting new people outdoors than I would in an indoor space! I also love the online community - such a wonderful supportive group of women."
We’ll make sure you have everything you need to lead with confidence — from training to teamwork.

You’ll complete our short online course, packed with everything we’ve learned over the years about running safe, welcoming sessions.

You’ll never do this on your own. We’ll provide:

  • Training and guidance through our Run Angel course and ongoing resources

  • Community connection with other Angels for advice and encouragement

  • TWR team support whenever you need help or want to share ideas

We care about your headspace as much as your miles. Volunteering should feel good — rewarding, balanced, and fun.

About the Run Angel Role

Run Angel
DNA

TWR Run Angels are the amazing volunteers who lead runs at This Woman Runs and make sure that all community members feel safe, included and motivated on TWR Group Runs.

Training & Support

We've taken all our years of learning and perfecting TWR run practices to make sure Run Angels are able to lead with confidence. We've even gone one step further and put it all into a helpful online course.

The Role

  • Leading weekly group runs

  • Be part of a team of 3-4 local Run Angels

  • Engage and share in your online group

  • Sharing run info and important updates

Time & Commitment

All Run Angels must be able to commit to a min of 1 run a month.

As you'll be part of a growing team of lead Angels, you'll be able to work in your teams on scheduling to ensure all weekly runs are covered.

Team Spirit

Building teams of Run Angels is key at TWR. This is done to ensure that all runs are covered and so that our Run Angels can volunteer their love and time without it becoming too much to handle alone. We're here for your headspace too!
